Two more people have been arrested related to a theft at Heathrow Airport in which 21 people sustained injuries by what is thought to be an irritant spray, as stated by police.

A man, 24, was arrested in the Lambeth area on suspicion of theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals are still being held, authorities confirmed.

The arrests follow a probe into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the attack, two women were robbed of their suitcases upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A toddler aged three was among the those hurt in the event. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and have since been released.

Officers arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of robbery and assault near the location. He was subsequently released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Police were alerted at about 08:10 GMT following reports of several people hurt by a noxious substance believed to be pepper spray.

The attack - an event that authorities stated was isolated and not considered terrorism - resulted in train delays and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility briefly.
